EMBC Music Ministries

"It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers [were] as one,
to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD;
and when they lifted up [their] voice with the trumpets and cymbals
and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, [saying], For
[he is] good; for his mercy [endureth] for ever: that [then] the house
was filled with a cloud, [even] the house of the LORD..."

 
Our ultimate goal as a ministry is to lead the congregation in praise and worship, to
set the proper atmosphere for the Word of God to come forth and to bless others through the musical gifts that have been given to glorify the Lord.

 

Our Purpose

We strive to sing to the glory of God and exhibit a Christian attitude. We lift the
lowered-spirits of the down-hearted and inspire hope through the power of uplifting
music in conjunction with the spoken word.

 

The Music Ministry consist of the following choirs: Inspirational Praise Choir, the
Houston Women's Choir, the Male Chorus, and the Youth Choir.

Inspirational Praise Choir

The Inspirational Praise Choir (IPC) serves Christ by lifting our voices in song, during worship service. Psalms 147:1 says “Praise ye the Lord; for it is good to sing praises
unto our God; for it is pleasant and praise is comely.”

Houston Women's Choir
Named to honor past pastor Moses S. Houston, the Houston Women’s Chorus serves Christ by delivering the gospel message in song. President Ora L. McLean reminds us
of the necessity of always trying to be obedient to Christ and His word.
